چکیده
Symbolic methods for computing effective Hamiltonian models are presented that do not rely on assumptions of perturbations and can exponentially decrease the number terms compared with ubiquitous Schrieffer-Wolff method.

Nonperturbative QED: An analytical treatment on the light front
We study positronium’s fine structure in a light-front hamiltonian approach. Starting with a bare cutoff QED hamiltonian, H B , with matrix elements between free states of drastically different energies removed, we perform a similarity transformation that removes the matrix elements between free states with energy differences between the bare cutoff, Λ, and final cutoff, λ (λ < Λ). This generat...
متن کاملRealising nonperturbative QED
We consider the possibility of experimental verification of vacuum ee pair creation at the focus of two counter-propagating optical laser beams with intensities 10-10 W/cm, achievable with presentday petawatt lasers, and approaching the Schwinger limit: 10 W/cm to be reached at ELI. Our approach is based on the collisionless kinetic equation for the evolution of the e and e− distribution functi...
متن کاملDimensionally regularized study of nonperturbative quenched QED
We study the dimensionally regularized fermion propagator Dyson-Schwinger equation in quenched nonperturbative QED in an arbitrary covariant gauge using the Curtis-Pennington vertex and perform nonperturbative renormalization numerically. The nonperturbative fermion propagator is solved in D ≡ 4 − 2ǫ < 4 dimensional Euclidean space for a large number of values of ǫ for two values of the couplin...
متن کاملNonperturbative approach to circuit quantum electrodynamics.
We outline a rigorous method which can be used to solve the many-body Schrödinger equation for a Coulomb interacting electronic system in an external classical magnetic field as well as a quantized electromagnetic field. Effects of the geometry of the electronic system as well as the polarization of the quantized electromagnetic field are explicitly taken into account. We accomplish this by per...
متن کاملNonperturbative calculations in light-front QED
The methods of light-front quantization and Pauli–Villars regularization are applied to a nonperturbative calculation of the dressed-electron state in quantum electrodynamics. This is intended as a test of the methods in a gauge theory, as a precursor to possible methods for the nonperturbative solution of quantum chromodynamics. The electron state is truncated to include at most two photons an...
